Who is Nicola Taylor?

“I grew up with four languages, in a very cosmopolitan environment. Art is my passion. I want to share it, and use it to open dialogue between individuals and cultures. Creating connections through art – that is my objective.”
Like its founder, Taylor’s Art English bears rich and enrichening origins.

Thanks to a Dutch mother and a British-born father who met in Rio de Janeiro in the 1960s, Nicola Marian Taylor was born in Madrid, Spain, and grew up in Germany where she earned her International Baccalaureate (I.B.) at the Frankfurt International School in 1994. She then chose to read Philosophy and French at the University of Oxford in England, before continuing on to study Business and French at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. When Nicola moved to Paris in 1999, she brought her business studies to fruition in a n a renowned international communications agency before taking a sabbatical to earn a masters degree in art history at the Sorbonne in 2008.
Nicola was indeed born under a cosmopolitan star, and continues to feel ‘at home’ in international, multilingual environments.

These values and varied background spawned the entrepreneurial venture of Taylor’s Art English in 2010.
Thanks to her work experience at galerie Jousse Entreprise contemporain, as well as her internship at Sotheby’s, volunteering as a writer at Paris-art.com, and writing for French artist Guillaume Mary, Nicola noticed first-hand that the art sector in France would benefit not only from language services but also from language training methods suited to art, its market, and the varied professions it encompasses.
Nicola therefore registered her trademark Taylor’s Art English with French administration (INPI) in September 2010, as she started to recognize the niche market potential that her ideas were destined for.

To this day, “home is where the art is.” A number of brands, including ‘Art Business English,’ ‘Art Business Conversation,’ and ‘Active Art Visit’ have been registered with INPI in France to continue protecting the innovative ideas driving this entrepreneurial venture, while the current one-person business finds the means to expand to a bigger hub of linguistic excellence with other finely sourced talented translators, trainers, and miscellaneous contributors.
